Rebecca Justice-Schaab has been a visual artist for over 40 years. Black & white drawing was her only artistic interest in her youth and young adult years. This early period however, provided a deep understanding of values, line & shapes and became a solid foundation for the exploration of color and painting later on. Rebecca is an oil painter in the impressionistic genre. Color is her passion and brushtrokes are her means of expression. "Of course I am passionate about other elements as well, such as edges, shapes and line. Unifying a painting with these tools in mind makes for a lasting impression. My ultimate goal is to produce a painting that rivals the one before it. Like everything else in life, it's a slow process. Keeping the viewer in mind as I paint holds me to a certain standard. The experience is fulfilling, demanding and exhausting. I offer a temporary respite, a sense of well-being or peace, and now & then a bit of humor to those who view my paintings." Rebecca and husband Tom live in northern Indiana. This rural wonderland offers up inspiring landscape themes which have become a more prominent choice of subject matter among her love of painting the figure and the still life. Painting abstracts are also an attractive choice for Rebecca when the need for a release, exploration, or a new perspective is desired.
UPDATE: This is big! Rebecca & her husband have moved back into Auburn Indiana and are busy settling into their new home. Rebecca is arranging her new studio & getting a feel for creating in a new environment. God is so good!
