Coleman Valley Road Poppies & Lupine by LaRhee Webster
Oil 12" x 16"

This wonderful, twisty little road runs between Occidental and the Pacific coast, and comes out just north of Bodega Bay. It travels through dense redwoods and scattered oaks on high hills with magnificent vistas. A trip there a couple years ago together with the super bloom of poppies this spring inspired this painting. Currently unframed. Painting ID #452.

Biography
Artist's Statement
"I drew and painted from a very young age, so I have always had a desire to create things artistic. After college, I spent my life as an award winning illustrator, graphic designer, and a one person ad agency, doing it all.
Today I paint both in plein air and in my studio. I paint in different styles, as the subject moves me because my artwork is a journey through my own vision, which is sometimes quite abstract and other times, very realistic.
I paint what I love. I paint the places I’ve been, and places I want to be.
I paint where I can smell the air, feel the sunlight, and loose myself in the dark shadows. I paint with explosions of color and big brush strokes and I paint with fine detail because some things are just that way. I paint to share my journey and my vision, and to celebrate the beauty that is around us."

Artist's Biography
Webster describes herself as a multi-stylistic artist. She says, "You don't cook a cake the same way you cook a steak, so why should you paint different things all in the same style? Each event, subject, landscape, figure or still life, is unique and deserves to be treated in a way that brings out the qualities and emotions I see for it in my own vision. I want the painting style to support the focus of the painting and it's subject. Otherwise, you should just take a photo!"
LaRhee Webster was born at Stanford CA. Her family farmed apricots in Los Altos CA. In the early 1950s when it got too crowded, they moved to a prune farm in the countryside of Gilroy. There Webster grew up wandering the hills and creeks in [...]
