The Japanese cords have arrived!!! They are soooo beautiful the pics do not do them justice. If you have an opinion on them please let me know. If you like them I will order more in different colors and patterns. Some are very subtle and elegant or bold and classy. I just posted the three patterns that came in in the Jewelry section. I'm starting to also post some completed jewelry.

On the matter of cords for the pendants I found a place in Japan that (hopefully) will ship me the most beautiful cord that I have seen. It is made from Kimono fabric. Pricey but Wow! If I can get it it should be here within two weeks. And please hold off on placing pendant orders until the silk ribbon comes in. I will be posting the available colors then. And now you will receive that ribbon as part of the pendant price.

I got in touch with a supplier yesterday who can give me a good price on silk ribbon cords with findings. They are not as nice as the hand dyed ones and the silk cords and the findings are pot metal instead of sterling or brass but the cost is good enough that I can include it in the cost of a pendant. And there will be a nice selection of colors. You can still upgrade though if you wish. The setback though is that there is at least a two week wait till they get to me. And I'm ordering some small boxes so that the pendants can go into a padded envelope instead of priority mail so to save a few dollars in mailing.

And these pieces will be signed!...yes signed! A micro signature tag in Sterling silver or brass will be added to each necklace and prayer bead strand. On another note I just received several pierced lockets in Sterling for adding scents to my prayer beads. I spent several days gathering. preparing and drying rose petals to make scented balls to place in the lockets. These are damask roses and the perfume that has filled my home has been well......heavenly! As always I am striving to create the nicest pieces possible by utilizing the finest materials I can find. I want my prayer beads to be more than pretty utilitarian pieces but true works of art .
On another note I realize that I said that the new bronzes would be ready by the middle of this month. I received a call from my foundry this week that they would be ready for me to come and decide on the patinas. However the artist I work with on the patinas was getting ready to go to Japan to visit his wife's family. So rather than do a rush job we decided to wait until he got back later this month.
