Welcome to a colorful web site.

Ilene is quickly becoming recognized as a strong figurative painter that is popular among collectors. She has two solo exhibits coming up in 2009. The "Counter Clockwise" collection is reminiscent of the 1900's through the 1950's and the viewer is implored to imagine the stories behind the lives of those in the paintings. The exhibit will be on view in March at Rogue Gallery and Art Center in Medford, Oregon and then in the Fall of 2009 at Rive Gauche Galleries in Scottsdale, Arizona. Enthusiasts agree that Gienger-Stanfield's work is a treat for the eyes as well as the heart. Her use of soft edges and bold color stirs up a fascinating imagery that profoundly speaks of the innocence and beauty of her subject matter. Ilene's paintings are not sentimental but they are optimistic.

Gienger-Stanfield's custom framing uses museum glass in a tasteful frame which enhances the image leaving an elegant and sophisticated painting.

Her medium is pastel. Pastels are pigment, held together with a bit of binder. Used on archival surfaces, they can outlive an oil painting. When pigment covers the whole surface it is considered a pastel painting. Pastels are vibrant and immediate which suit Gienger-Stanfield's style.

The time being taken to peruse Ilene's web site is appreciated. Enjoy the images and check out upcoming workshops and events.

Wishing you well.
